About John
Hi, I am John, a BACP accredited counsellor and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapist offering a safe, compassionate space for people to explore their difficulties with empathy and compassion and so to reconnect with their inner resilience. My integrative approach blends Humanistic Person-Centered, counselling with Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), helping clients recognise and shift negative thinking and emotional patterns, often rooted in early complex child hood traumatic experiences, that contribute to anxiety, depression, and low self-worth.
With more than eight years’ counselling experience and more than a decade of mindfulness mediation practice, I work collaboratively with clients utilising the Humanistic Person Centred approach to counselling tailored to support healing from trauma and personal growth—drawing on therapeutic modalities that include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT). These modalities can offer an effective approach to healing childhood trauma.
I have also delivered MBCT programmes to the private sector and work as an inspirational speaker on mindfulness and well-being, having presented to organisations such as the NHS, Bucks University, GE Healthcare and O2.
Alongside my private work, I serve as the lead counsellor in a secondary school, supporting students through counselling and mindfulness supporting them to overcome their difficulties, building their confidence and resilience through emotional regulation and self-awareness.

“Person-Centred Counselling offers a safe, non-judgemental space to support the client to explore their troubling thoughts, emotions and previous trauma to overcome their difficulties. Having unconditional positive regard for the client supports the foundation of the therapeutic relationship built upon trust and having a compassionate and empathic understanding for their experiences. This foundation can facilitate growth and healing within the client by removing conditions of worth and building confidence and resilience for them to achieve their fullest potential.”
“John is an ethical practitioner who pursues high levels of continuing professional education as well as development in order to best maintain his professional values in such ways as to maintain maximum benefit for his clients”
