Take Control of Your Thoughts and Change Your Life

Are unhelpful thoughts keeping you stuck? Do anxiety, low mood, or overthinking interfere with your everyday life?

Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) is a structured meditation focused approach to mental health support which is similar to CBT. It supports us to develop self-awareness to our  “automatic pilots” negative thought patterns and behaviours that can cause us to experience the co-morbidity of anxiety and depression.

I’m based in Buckinghamshire and I offer professional MBCT to help you understand the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours — and create meaningful, lasting change.

What Is MBCT?

Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) is a structured, goal-focused approach to mental health support very similar to CBT. It works by helping you:

  • Identify negative or unhelpful thought patterns

  • Challenge and reframe limiting beliefs

  • Build practical strategies to manage distressing emotions

  • Replace destructive behaviours with healthier habits

MBCT is practical, empowering, and proven to deliver results — often in as few as 6–12 sessions. It’s suitable for adults, teens, and young people and can be delivered both in person and online.

MBCT Sessions Available in Buckinghamshire
Why Choose my Counselling?

As a fully qualified and experienced counsellor in Buckinghamshire, I bring a flexible, compassionate approach to CBT, combining it with:

  • Mindfulness training – to calm the nervous system and build awareness

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) – to align with your values

  • Therapeutic counselling – for emotional depth and support

  • Guided Meditation Practice – A very beneficial practice for the mind and body and our overall health and well-being. Meditation has been shown through MRI scans to reduce the activity in the reactive parts of the brain related to fight, flight and freeze and to show growth in the Pre-Frontal Cortex region related to introspection, empathy, decision making, reduced impulsiveness and emotional regulation.

What to Expect in a MBCT Session

MBCT is structured, but not rigid. Each session is collaborative, focusing on what’s most relevant to your goals and needs. You’ll:

  • Learn how your thoughts, feelings and actions are linked

  • Practice tools and techniques that work in real-life situations

  • Handouts and links to guided meditations

  • Gently challenge unhelpful habits — and replace them with helpful ones

  • Build confidence and emotional control

  • Forms to support you to build  awareness to reactive habits

Most clients begin to notice positive shifts within the first few weeks.
